The Blazy Show wants to help the homeless..........PLEASE VOLUNTEER to Interview and Serve Homeless People.
Help, and learn from, our homeless neighbors. Volunteer with the Task Force for the Homeless to serve food, distribute gifts, or interview people without housing at one of twelve
Events throughout the county as part of the 2007 Sonoma County Homeless Count on January 31. People without homes who attend Count events will receive a hot meal, gifts, and services for sharing information (anonymously) on their situation. Results help preserve c. $2 Million in federal Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funds used by Sonoma County agencies to build homes and provide essential services. And they inform local planning efforts for affordable homes and services.
Those experienced with people in crisis may volunteer on an Outreach Team between January 25 & 31, helping survey people in encampments, labor centers, meal programs, and gathering places. To volunteer contact Shanna Peterson at 536-6111 or
cinzin@hotmail.com.
